Arenga brevipes is a solitary-stemmed, evergreen palm native to the tropical rainforests of Borneo and Sumatra. It features an unbranched trunk topped with a rosette of large, pinnate leaves that often display a striking silvery-white underside. This slow-growing species thrives in humid, tropical conditions with partial shade and well-drained soil. While its edible apical bud is harvested as a palm heart, the fruits are toxic. It is valued ornamentally for its lush, architectural foliage.
