About Sugar Palm

Arenga pinnata, commonly known as the Sugar Palm, is a majestic, medium-sized feather palm native to tropical Asia. It is renowned for its economic importance, particularly for the sweet sap harvested from its inflorescences to produce sugar, wine, and vinegar. The palm features a solitary trunk covered in persistent black fibrous leaf bases and large, ascending pinnate leaves that can reach lengths of 12 meters. It is a monocarpic species, flowering once at maturity before perishing.
