About DREAMERIA® 'Dreamland' False Sea Thrift

DREAMERIA® ‘Dreamland’ is a compact, mounding false sea thrift with dark salmon flowers held above evergreen, grasslike foliage. The cultivar patent confirms the name ‘Dreamland’ and the species Armeria pseudarmeria; Darwin Perennials lists PP30,601, a 10–12-inch height and spread, and flowering from spring through autumn ([patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP30601P2/en); [Darwin Perennials](https://www.darwinperennials.com/Products/Details/?phid=006108082001576)). ## In the Garden Use this low perennial at the front of a sunny border, beside a path, in a rock garden, or in a patio container with drainage. Its dark salmon blooms give a warmer color than the white-flowered ‘Dream Clouds’. The breeder describes the Dreameria series as heat tolerant and selected for a longer flowering season; exact performance depends on climate and growing conditions. ## Growing Conditions Provide sun and a well-drained planting site. Darwin lists USDA zones 5a–9a and medium water. The breeder identifies butterflies as visitors and describes the habit as tidy and mounded. Retain some air movement around the foliage and avoid waterlogged soil. ## Maintenance Remove faded flower heads to keep the plant neat and support continued flowering. Check container moisture during hot weather, since pots dry faster than garden soil. Allow room for a mound about 10–12 inches wide.
