Create design onlineAbout Art & Sol™ Catch a Wave Mangave
Art & Sol™ Catch a Wave is a compact mangave with a broad, upright form and thick, wavy silvery blue-green leaves marked with dark spots. Walters Gardens describes it as a second-generation hybrid with more Agave-like traits and lists it at 8–10 inches tall by 18–20 inches wide on its [exact plant detail page](https://www.waltersgardens.com/variety.php?ID=MAGCW). The profile notes that stronger UV light intensifies the spotting and color, while indoor greenhouse growing can cause them to fade.
## Growing
Use it as a focal succulent in a sunny landscape or decorative container, alone or mixed with other plants. Its low-to-average water needs suit a freely draining succulent mix, and it grows slowly into a distinctive architectural form.
## Maintenance
Let the growing medium dry between waterings, especially in cool weather, and avoid leaving the roots in standing water. If grown indoors or under greenhouse covering through winter, give it several weeks of direct sunlight afterward to restore color and spotting. Mangaves are perennial in southern zones, but can be grown as annuals in colder regions or overwintered indoors. When a flowering rosette eventually dies, its basal offsets can be separated and replanted.
