Art & Sol™ Thunderbird Mangave

Art & Sol™ Thunderbird is a compact mangave grown for its red-toned, spotted foliage. Walters Gardens lists it at 8–12 inches tall and 10–12 inches wide and describes its foliage as red-toned. It grows slowly in full sun and is listed for low water needs, patio containers, and rock gardens. ## Growing Place it in a sunny spot with freely draining soil. The compact rosette makes a strong accent in a container or rock garden, where the red markings stand out against other foliage. Water lightly and let the soil dry between waterings. ## Maintenance After establishment, water sparingly; avoid leaving the roots in wet soil, particularly during cool weather. Protect it from frost and cold beyond the plant’s suitable growing conditions. Remove damaged leaves carefully with clean tools, keeping clear of the leaf margins.
