About Aster Kickin® Lavender

KICKIN® Lavender is a compact, bushy aster that carries soft lavender flowers with small golden centers above deep green foliage. Its late-season bloom and rounded form suit perennial borders, containers and cutting gardens. ## Seasonal Display and Placement This Kientzler-bred selection flowers from late summer into fall, when its small daisy-like heads bring color to the late-season garden. The source lists it at roughly 23–35 inches tall and wide, with a medium growth rate; actual size varies with growing conditions. The KICKIN® series is known for dense, naturally compact plants, so routine shaping is usually unnecessary. ## Growing Conditions Provide full sun and average to moist soil. The cultivar profile lists tolerance of sandy or clay soils and acid, neutral or alkaline pH. In a dry spell, water deeply enough to keep the root zone from drying severely, while avoiding persistently soggy conditions. The listed hardiness range is USDA zones 5–9. ## Maintenance Pinching before July is an optional way to keep plants shorter; it is not required for a natural compact habit.
