Magic™ Pink Aster

Magic™ Pink is Syngenta’s pink color variety in its Magic line of New York aster. The breeder identifies it as Aster novi-belgii, code 70018161, with fall flowering, an upright habit, compact-to-medium vigor, and a garden height of 25–40 cm. ## Form and Placement The uniform, well-branched plant is offered for packs and pots, with Syngenta listing container sizes from 10 to 19 cm. Its pink flowers bring color to fall displays; keep the plant where it receives sun or light shade. ## Growing Conditions Use fertile soil that holds moisture while draining freely, and water more often when growing in a container. General New York aster guidance recommends moisture-retentive soil and notes that partial shade is suitable, though flowering may be lighter there. ## Maintenance Water consistently while the plant is actively growing and flowering. Remove spent stems after the fall display and divide perennial clumps in spring if they become crowded. The breeder’s garden-height range is about 10–16 inches; it does not provide a cultivar spread on this page.
