Athyrium filix-femina

Athyrium filix-femina, commonly known as the lady fern, is a graceful deciduous perennial noted for its elegant, lacy-cut fronds that grow in dense, shuttlecock-like clumps. Reaching heights of two to three feet, its light green foliage is two-to-three pinnate, creating a fine-textured appearance. This vigorous fern thrives in moist, fertile, well-drained soils within part to full shade. It is ideal for woodland gardens, shaded borders, and near water features, offering excellent deer resistance.
