Create design onlineAbout Axcent™ Antique Rose Aubrieta
Axcent™ Antique Rose is a selection of Aubrieta hybrida in Syngenta’s Axcent series, whose early-spring flowers and compact, mounding habit suit low borders and rock gardens. Syngenta reports a series garden height of about four inches and a width of 10–12 inches; its European profile gives production hardiness values rather than a United States garden zone range. The “Antique Rose” product name identifies the color selection, whose appearance can shift with light and weather.
## Placement and growing conditions
Plant in full sun for the strongest flowering, with light shade acceptable in warmer locations. Use moderately fertile soil that drains freely; standing or winter-wet soil can damage the crown. Aubrieta is also suited to rock gardens, containers with drainage, and dry walls. Keep new plants watered during establishment, then water according to rainfall and soil drying.
## Seasonal care
The Axcent series flowers in early spring and requires vernalization for flowering in commercial production. That production requirement should not be confused with a home-garden treatment. After the flowers fade, a light trim can keep the mound compact. Check for aphids and common brassica pests if growth becomes distorted.

## Maintenance
Maintain drainage and trim after flowering only when needed to preserve a neat edge.
