Glacier™ Sky Blue is a compact rock cress with small grey-green evergreen leaves and sky-blue to purple-blue flowers. It blooms later than many Aubrieta cultivars, extending the spring display, and its low, spreading form suits rock gardens, wall edges, containers, and the front of a sunny border.
## Garden Use and Appearance
[Syngenta identifies this plant](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/emea/product/flower/70064290) as Aubrieta hybrida Glacier Sky Blue, product 70064290. The Glacier series is noted for overwintering performance and flowers roughly two to three weeks later than the Axcent series. Its mat-forming foliage can soften the edge of paving or a raised bed; allow room for the plant to spread rather than burying it among taller neighbors.
## Growing Conditions
Choose a sunny site and soil that drains freely. Aubrieta tolerates partial shade, but flowering is best with good light. Provide regular water while new plants establish and during dry spells; avoid persistently wet soil, especially in winter. The breeder's North American culture guide gives a 6–8 inch mature height and spread and USDA zones 6–9. [The RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/529097/aubrieta-glacier-sky-blue-glacier-series/details) describes the named cultivar as about 15 cm tall and lists a broader eventual size range, so actual dimensions vary with climate and growing conditions.
## Maintenance
Water during establishment and dry periods, then allow the soil surface to dry between waterings. Trim after flowering if the plant becomes untidy; avoid cutting into old, bare stems.
