About Glacier™ Violet Aubrieta

Glacier™ Violet is a low rock cress in Syngenta's Glacier series, grown for violet spring flowers above compact grey-green foliage. The series flowers later than many Aubrieta cultivars and is suited to rock gardens, sunny borders, containers, and the edges of walls or paving. ## Garden Use and Appearance [Syngenta lists Glacier Violet as product 70069265](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70069265) and describes the Glacier series as slightly more compact than Axcent, with flowering about two to three weeks later. The low habit makes it useful at the front of a border or where stems can spill over a stone edge. Use it in small groups for a visible spring color patch, while leaving enough space for its mat to widen. ## Growing Conditions Grow in full sun for the best flowering, with partial shade acceptable in warmer sites. Use moderately fertile soil with good drainage; Aubrieta generally struggles where winter moisture remains around the crown. Water new plants through establishment and during extended dry spells. [The grower catalog](https://www.gulleygreenhouse.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/2025-Gulley-Greenhouse-Wholesale-Catalog.pdf) gives a mature height of roughly 4–8 inches; spreads vary from 10–12 inches to a broader mat, depending on growing conditions. USDA ratings differ among sources, so retain the existing catalog range. ## Maintenance Water through establishment and during prolonged dry weather. After flowering, a light trim can keep the mound tidy and encourage fresh growth; keep soil well drained through winter.
