MegaCopa™ Pink is Ball FloraPlant's trade name for the trailing ornamental commonly sold as bacopa. Ball identifies this selection as cultivar ‘Balmecpim24’; Kew treats the traditional botanical name, Sutera cordata, as a synonym of Chaenostoma cordatum. It forms a low, branching mound with flexible stems and a long outdoor flowering season.
## Growth and use
The breeder lists a typical height of 4–6 inches and spread of 12–18 inches, with a mounded, trailing habit. Use it at the edge of a container, hanging basket, or seasonal bed, allowing the stems room to spill. Ball describes the series as large-flowered, well-branched, and selected for improved heat performance, though consistent moisture remains important.
## Flowers and siting
The Pink trade name and patent wording differ slightly: the patent describes the flowers as pale purple, while the commercial series is marketed as pink. Light and viewing conditions can also affect perceived shade. Ball lists sun exposure and hardiness zones 9a–10b; in colder climates this tender perennial is commonly grown as a seasonal container or bedding plant. Keep the root zone evenly moist in a freely draining medium.
Ball Horticultural Company’s U.S. Plant Patent PP35503, issued November 21, 2023, identifies ‘Balmecpim24’ as the cultivar denomination. ## Maintenance
Water container-grown plants regularly so the root ball does not dry out, and provide drainage to limit root rot. Remove damaged stems or lightly trim when the plant becomes untidy. Pinching is described in the breeder’s production guidance for young plants to encourage branching; it is not a recurring landscape maintenance requirement.
