Create design onlineAbout Scopia® Great Regal Blue Bacopa
Scopia® Great Regal Blue is a compact, well-branched bacopa grown for large blue flowers and an early, spreading display. [Breeder Danziger lists](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/scopia-great-regal-blue/) a mature size of 4–6 inches tall by 12–14 inches wide and recommends it for pots, hanging baskets, and mixed plantings.
## Form and placement
Its compact center and outward-growing stems suit the rim of a basket or the front edge of a combination planter. Danziger describes the Scopia Great series as early flowering, well branched, and useful in combinations. [Monrovia’s series profile](https://www.monrovia.com/scopia-174-great-bacopa.html) gives spring-through-summer bloom and a mounded, trailing habit. A [Greenhouse Grower trial article](https://www.greenhousegrower.com/crops/basket-worthy-beauties/) also describes Regal Blue as carrying large, deep-blue flowers above dark green foliage; actual flower shade can vary with light and temperature.
## Growing conditions
Grow in sun or partial sun with evenly moist, well-drained soil. Bacopa is often grown as a seasonal annual in climates with freezing winters; the exact Danziger page presents this as a commercial annual rather than giving a USDA perennial range. Keep containers from drying completely, particularly during hot weather, and provide some afternoon protection in especially hot sites.
## Maintenance
Water regularly during active growth, checking baskets more often than in-ground beds. Trim stems lightly if they outgrow their space or become uneven, and remove damaged growth. Replace the plant after frost where it is not winter hardy.
