About Scopia® Guilliver Compact Purple Bacopa

Scopia® Gulliver™ Compact Purple is a low, compact bacopa with medium-sized purple flowers and well-branched growth. It brings a concentrated color accent to hanging baskets, pots, and the front of a moist, sunny planting. ## Cultivar and landscape use The [Danziger product profile](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/scopia-gulliver-compact-purple/) identifies this exact cultivar as Bacopa (Sutera cordata), describes its compact habit and comparatively good heat tolerance, and gives a mature production size of 4–6 in. tall by 12–14 in. wide. Danziger lists pots and hanging baskets as suitable uses. Its Compact series technical sheet lists spring and summer flowering and identifies Compact Purple separately from Compact Blush, Rosa, and White. ## Siting and water Illinois Extension recommends full sun to very light afternoon shade and moist, well-drained soil for bacopa. Keep moisture consistent: dry soil can interrupt flowering and cause buds to drop. This makes the plant a useful spiller at the edge of a container only where the mix can be watered regularly; it is also suited to low edging in beds with similar moisture. ## Maintenance Check pots frequently during hot or windy weather and water when the mix begins to dry. Maintain drainage while avoiding prolonged drying. Trim back stems only when needed to keep the compact outline.
