Create design onlineAbout Be My® Destiny Calla Lily
Be My® Destiny is the grape-purple calla lily selection Destiny, with upright growth and green foliage. Its summer flowers make a strong accent in warm borders, containers, and cut-flower displays.
### Growing conditions
Plant in full sun or part shade in moist, well-drained soil. The [Proven Winners profile](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/calla-lily/be-my-destiny-calla-lily-zantedeschia-hybrid) lists an 18–24 inch height, a 9–12 inch spread, and hardiness zones 8a–12b. Keep the soil consistently moist while leaves and flowers are developing, but do not leave the rhizome in standing water. Where winters are colder than the listed range, grow Destiny in a movable container or lift and store the rhizome before frost.
### Garden use
Use this upright selection as a colorful focal point near a patio, in a container, or toward the front of a warm border. Its purple spathes can also be cut for indoor arrangements. The named Destiny selection is a useful choice when a purple focal flower is wanted in a warm-season planting.
## Maintenance
Water consistently during active growth and ensure the planting mix drains freely. Remove spent flower stems and yellow foliage, then reduce watering as the plant enters dormancy. Protect rhizomes from hard freezes in colder regions.
