Beccariophoenix fenestralis is a spectacular, solitary palm endemic to Madagascar, reaching heights of up to 40 feet. It is famously known for its "windows"—unsplit sections in the juvenile fronds that disappear as the plant matures into a massive, coconut-like specimen. This rare palm thrives in humid tropical climates with rich, acidic soil and full sun to partial shade. While it is cold-tolerant to the high 20s, it prefers consistent warmth and protection from dry winds.
