About Bossa Nova® Orange Trailing Begonia

Bossa Nova® Orange is a trailing Begonia boliviensis with orange, bell-shaped flowers. The cultivar is listed in the RHS begonia trial and in Syngenta’s Bossa Nova range, whose mounding and trailing plants are suited to containers and hanging baskets. ## Flowers and placement Syngenta lists this orange selection for flowering from mid-spring through summer, with a garden size of 12–16 inches tall and 16–20 inches wide. The live catalog already records 0.4 m height and 0.5 m width, consistent with those labeled ranges, so those dimensions are retained. Orange flowers are supported by the cultivar listing; the existing green foliage value is also retained. ## Growing Use a container with drainage and a potting mix that holds some moisture while allowing excess water to escape. The breeder lists the Bossa Nova range across full sun, partial sun, and shade, and notes tolerance of heat and sun; light conditions and container exposure still influence how often the plant needs watering. Syngenta lists zones 9a–11a, while the RHS describes the species as a tuberous perennial; the product is commonly grown as a warm-season annual where winter frost is expected. See the [Syngenta Bossa Nova Orange profile](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70060442), the [RHS begonia trial results](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/trials-awards/plant-trial-results/begonia), and the [RHS species profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/164608/begonia-boliviensis-t/details). ## Maintenance Check moisture regularly in baskets and pots, especially in hot weather, and remove damaged leaves. Protect the tuber from freezing if you want to keep the plant through a cold winter.
