Bossa Nova® Yellow is a yellow-flowered Begonia boliviensis in Syngenta’s seed-grown Bossa Nova series. The breeder describes the series as well branched and mounding to trailing, with plants around 12–16 inches high and 16–20 inches wide for containers and hanging baskets.
## Form and placement
The [Syngenta Yellow profile](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70097933) identifies the yellow color selection and lists flowering in mid-spring and summer. Its branching, spreading growth fills patio pots and baskets, while stems can extend over the container edge. The listed hardiness range is USDA 9a–11a, so plants outside that range need frost protection or are grown as seasonal annuals.
## Growing conditions
Syngenta lists exposure from full shade through full sun and describes the series as heat loving. The [Bossa Nova culture guide](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/sites/g/files/kgtney2381/files/file_field/import/field_media_link/sites/g/files/zhg721/f/media/2020/03/02/culture_seed_begonia_bossanova.pdf) recommends allowing growing medium to dry between irrigations; avoid letting the shallow-rooted plant remain dry long enough to wilt. Provide a free-draining mix and adjust watering for container size and weather.
## Maintenance
Water by checking the growing medium rather than a fixed schedule, and remove damaged growth. The opened sources do not establish a need for routine deadheading.
