Curly™ Chocolate is a Rex begonia selected for its curled, patterned foliage rather than showy flowers. It belongs to Green Fuse’s vigorous Curly series, which uses the familiar escargot-type leaf form for indoor and protected-container displays.
## Cultivar background
The [Green Fuse Botanicals introduction](https://green-fuse.com/new/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/GREEN-FUSE-NEW-VARIETIES-2020-21-v3s.pdf) lists Curly Chocolate as part of the Curly Rex series and notes that it was formerly marketed as Dibs Strawberry Chocolate. The breeder describes the series as high vigor with a classic escargot-type leaf. This establishes the trade name and series characteristics; it does not verify a specific color description for every plant carrying the Curly Chocolate name. Foliage color and pattern are best assessed on the supplied plant and may shift with light and maturity.
## Placement
Grow in bright, indirect light or partial shade, away from harsh midday sun. A well-drained container mix suits its shallow, fibrous roots and lets the foliage be viewed at close range. It can be grown indoors or as a warm-season container accent outdoors; protect from frost.
## Maintenance
Water when the potting mix surface begins to dry and allow excess water to drain. Keep the mix lightly and evenly moist rather than saturated. Remove damaged leaves and spent stems as needed, and provide gentle air movement around the foliage.
