Begonia 'Fireworks'

Begonia ‘Fireworks’ is a TERRA NOVA selection valued for its metallic foliage: the breeder describes a silver-white center surrounded by purple bands and pink flowers. TERRA NOVA identifies it as a virus-free clone and describes a mounding form for shaded containers and landscape accents. ## Siting The [breeder profile](https://www.terranovanurseries.com/product/begonia-fireworks/) lists full shade and USDA zones 10–11, with average to high water needs and humid conditions. The [North Carolina Extension Rex begonia profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/begonia-rex-types/) gives general guidance for Rex types: bright indirect light, moist well-drained soil, and high humidity. Avoid intense direct sun and standing water. ## Maintenance Keep the root zone moist but well drained and protect from cold. Use its listed 10 × 18 inch size when choosing a shaded container or border position, and allow airflow around the foliage.
