About Dragon Wing® Pink Begonia

The Dragon Wing® begonia is a large-flowered interspecific hybrid grown as a warm-season bedding plant, container specimen, or hanging-basket plant. Its arching stems carry abundant flowers from spring into autumn, while the exact bloom color and foliage tone depend on the named selection. The breeder identifies this selection as Dragon Wing® Pink (Bepapink), with pink flowers and the series’ characteristic arching display. ## Growing conditions Plants typically reach 12–15 inches tall and 15–18 inches wide. Plant outdoors after frost danger has passed. Dragon Wing adapts to sun or shade, but partial shade helps protect foliage in hot afternoon conditions. Use fertile, humus-rich soil that stays evenly moist while draining well; do not let containers stand in water or dry completely. Allow room for the mature plant, and use a roomy container or hanging basket for its arching stems. ## Season and care The breeder lists flowering from spring through autumn and describes vigorous, easy-care performance in warm southern conditions as well as cooler regions. Remove damaged stems as needed and keep fallen flowers swept from hard surfaces. The University of Arkansas extension also notes heat and humidity tolerance and recommends fertile, well-drained organic soil. ## Pink flowering form The flowers provide a bright contrast against the plant’s green foliage. In strong light, foliage may take on some bronze tint, but this form is distinct from the named Bronze Leaf selections. Trim only damaged or unwanted stems; routine deadheading is not needed for a continuous display.
