About Hula™ Red and White Mixture Spreading Begonia

Hula™ Red and White Mixture is a compact, spreading interspecific begonia grown for abundant red and white flowers in a mixture flowers. The mixture combines red and white blooms; individual plants carry either color. Ball Seed reports a mature height of 6–10 inches and a spread of 20–27 inches, with a trailing habit suited to ground beds, hanging baskets, and mixed containers. ## Flowers and placement The highly branched plants carry many flowers above the foliage and begin flowering early; the Hula series is daylength neutral. Use it to fill the edge of a sunny or shaded bed, spill over a basket, or add season-long color to a container. The breeder lists flowering from early spring through autumn and exposure to shade or sun. See the exact [Ball Seed cultivar profile](https://info.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=009207300020264) and the [Hula series guide](https://info.ballseed.com/MarketingPDF.aspx?blobid=1426). ## Growing conditions Hula is offered for seasonal landscape performance. Provide regular moisture while plants establish and avoid leaving container media waterlogged. The [RHS outdoor begonia guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/begonias/outdoors) describes outdoor begonias as tender, advises planting after frost, and notes that begonias grow well in partial shade; in frost-prone areas, wait until frost danger has passed before setting plants outdoors. ## Maintenance Water containers and beds as needed to prevent prolonged drying, especially during warm weather. Remove damaged growth to keep the planting tidy. Protect from frost or treat as seasonal color where begonias cannot overwinter outdoors.
