Prelude Plus Rose is a compact, mounding wax begonia with rose-colored flowers above green foliage. The exact selection grows 6–8 inches tall and wide, and the grower lists it for borders and containers ([Lucas Greenhouses](https://www.lucasgreenhouses.com/plant/Begonia-semperflorens-cultorum-Prelude-Plus-Rose)).
## Flowers and placement
Plant them in groups to make a continuous low edge, or place them near the front of seasonal containers and bedding displays. Their small, mounding habit leaves space for taller plants behind them.
## Growing conditions
Choose sun or partial shade and moist, freely draining soil. RHS describes wax begonias as tender perennials commonly grown as annuals and recommends fertile, moist but well-drained soil ([RHS](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/25707/begonia-semperflorens-hort/details)). Set outdoor plants out only after frost danger has passed; RHS hardiness ratings are UK-specific and do not establish a USDA zone for these selections.
## Maintenance
Water during dry weather, especially in containers, and allow excess water to drain. In frost-prone climates, grow them as warm-season bedding plants or protect them indoors. Remove spent or damaged stems when needed to keep a neat edge.
