Topspin™ Scarlet R Imp. Begonia

Topspin™ Scarlet R Imp. is a scarlet-flowered wax begonia in Syngenta Flowers’ Topspin series. Topspin plants form mounds and are listed for sun or shade, with an approximate garden size of 20–25 cm tall by 15–20 cm wide. ## Landscape Use Use this seasonal begonia in bedding, edging, and small containers where a low mound of red color is useful. The [Syngenta Flowers catalog](https://online.flippingbook.com/view/521795265) lists Topspin colors and series characteristics. ## Siting and Size Give plants well-drained soil and steady moisture during active growth. In hot sites, afternoon shade can reduce stress; the breeder lists the series for sun or shade. The series size is a guide, since weather and growing conditions affect mature dimensions. The [RHS Begonia semperflorens profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/25707/begonia-semperflorens-hort/details) recommends moist but well-drained soil for this group. ## Maintenance Plant outdoors after frost danger has passed. Water when the soil begins to dry, especially in pots, and avoid standing water around roots. Remove frost-damaged plants at season’s end in cold climates.
