Yin White Dwarf Begonia

Yin White is a compact, mounded wax begonia with white flowers and bronze foliage. The pale blooms stand out against the darker leaves in shaded beds, border plantings and patio containers. ## Size and placement The [Ball Seed Yin and Yang series brochure](https://info.ballseed.com/MarketingPDF.aspx?blobid=286) lists Yin White as a named color form, describes Yin as bronze-leaved and mounded, and gives the series a mature height of 6–8 inches with a 10–12 inch spread. Use the range for spacing and allow modest variation by site. The [North Carolina Extension profile](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/begonia-wax-types/) describes wax begonias as adaptable to varied light after establishment and suited to moist, well-drained organic soil. ## Seasonal growing Wax begonias are tender plants often used as annuals in cold-winter areas. The [University of Illinois Extension profile](https://web.extension.illinois.edu/hortanswers/plantdetail.cfm?PlantID=5&PlantTypeID=1) describes their use in gardens and containers and prolonged bloom from spring until frost. Choose sun or shade according to local conditions. ## Maintenance Keep the root zone evenly moist but not saturated, and check pots during warm, dry spells. Remove damaged foliage and protect plants from frost.
