About BELLECONIA™ Salmon Tuberous Begonia

BELLECONIA™ Salmon is a cascading tuberous begonia with salmon-coral, fully double flowers above green foliage. Its compact mound sends stems over the edge of a basket or planter, bringing long summer color to shaded patios and other sheltered container displays. ## Garden use and appearance [Proven Winners lists this exact Salmon selection](https://www.provenwinners.com/plants/begonia/belleconia-salmon-tuberous-begonia-begonia-semperflorens) with orange flowers in a salmon-coral shade, green foliage, and a tight teardrop habit. The plant grows about 20–30 cm tall and 25–36 cm wide; trailing stems can extend farther in hanging containers. The named cultivar is sold as a seasonal annual for outdoor displays. ## Growing conditions Use it in a hanging basket, window box, or patio container in part shade to shade. Keep the potting mix evenly moist while allowing excess water to drain. The [Kientzler Belleconia series](https://kientzler.innovaplant.com/KientzlerProductsWebSitev2020/kientzler/variety/1/120/85/1296) is bred for pendulous basket and window-box displays. This begonia is frost-sensitive; its listed product hardiness is limited to USDA zones 10–11, so in colder climates it is best treated as seasonal. ## Maintenance Remove damaged flowers and foliage as needed and check crowded, humid growth for fungal problems. Protect the plant from frost. In colder climates, grow it as a seasonal annual or try frost-free tuber storage.
