Bronze leaf Whopper Begonia

Whopper Rose Bronze Leaf is a mounded landscape begonia with rose-pink flowers and bronze foliage. Its height and broad spread make it a choice for shaded beds, mass plantings, and roomy containers. ## Landscape use Plant it in mixed borders, grouped beds, or a large patio container. Ball Seed describes the exact Whopper Rose Bronze Leaf selection as heat tolerant, with flowers up to 3 inches across; Buchanan’s also lists it for containers and mass planting. ## Size and siting Ball Seed gives a mature height of 30–34 inches and a width of 22 inches. Buchanan’s lists about 30 by 24 inches, so mature size can vary with growing conditions. Both sources recommend shade or partial sun. Buchanan’s lists USDA zone 9b; protect the plant from frost in colder climates. ## Seasonal interest The cultivar flowers from spring into fall, providing color through much of the warm season. It is commonly grown as a seasonal annual where winters are cold. ## Maintenance Keep the root zone evenly moist while ensuring that containers and beds drain freely. Remove damaged leaves or spent flower clusters when needed for appearance.
