Create design onlineAbout Gryphon Begonia
Gryphon is a foliage begonia with large silver-green leaves and a mounded, upright habit. PanAmerican Seed describes it as low-water and useful in containers, with the option to bring plants indoors at the end of the outdoor season.
## Foliage and placement
The broad leaves provide the main ornamental effect. The breeder recommends shade or partial sun and reports 14–16 inches tall and 16–18 inches wide under standard conditions. It notes that height changes with light and climate: plants may be shorter in partial sun and can become much taller in hot, humid conditions.
## Seasonal use
Use Gryphon as a foliage accent in a mixed container, patio pot, or sheltered seasonal display. The product profile describes a durable selection and says it can be moved indoors before cold weather.
## Maintenance
Choose a draining container and allow the potting mix to begin drying between waterings; PanAmerican Seed calls this a low-water plant. Provide bright filtered light indoors and bring the plant inside before frost if you want to extend its season.
