Megawatt™ White Green Leaf Begonia

Megawatt™ White Green Leaf is a large-flowered interspecific begonia with white blooms above green foliage. Its upright, mounded shape and extended flowering period work well in seasonal beds, borders, baskets, and spacious containers, where the bright flowers read clearly against the leaves. ## Cultivar profile The exact [PanAmerican Seed profile](https://www.panamseed.com/products/009207585008232/begonia-megawatt-white-green-leaf/) matches PAS1472507 in the live scientific name. It lists a mature height of 20–28 inches and width of 16–24 inches, mounded and upright growth, flowering from spring through autumn, and sun or shade exposure. This White Green Leaf type is described as beginning to flower several days earlier than other members of the series. ## Growing conditions Treat this begonia as a tender seasonal plant outdoors: wait until frost risk has passed, use soil that retains moisture without becoming waterlogged, and water during dry periods. The [RHS garden begonia guide](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/begonias/outdoors) recommends sun or partial shade and watering regularly when conditions are dry while keeping water off the foliage. In hot sites, afternoon shade can reduce stress. ## Maintenance Keep containers draining freely and maintain even moisture during active growth. Remove spent flowers and any damaged leaves as needed, and protect plants from cold before the first frost.
