About Stara Series Pink Begonia

Stara Pink is a pink-flowered selection in the Stara begonia series. The RHS lists the accepted cultivar as Begonia ‘Stara Pink’ in the Stara Series, while the Dallas Arboretum identifies Stara with Begonia semperflorens. ## Growth and placement Dallas Arboretum’s trial profile describes Stara as a spring and summer annual, 16–20 inches tall and wide, for part sun to full shade. It recommends medium water and says not to let the soil dry completely. Wellgrow lists the Stara series at about 40 cm tall, a compatible but lower height reference than the Arboretum’s garden trial range. ## Seasonal display The Pink selection adds color to a group described as vigorous and early flowering. The Dallas profile lists Pink among the Stara series colors and recommends larger containers for its vigorous growth. ## Maintenance Grow in well-drained soil and water consistently, allowing excess water to drain. In containers, check the mix regularly during warm weather. Remove damaged foliage and faded flowers when needed to keep the planting tidy.
