Berberis julianae, or Wintergreen Barberry, is a dense, upright evergreen shrub known for its formidable three-parted spines and leathery, dark green foliage. Reaching heights of up to 10 feet, it serves as an exceptional security hedge or barrier. In spring, it produces clusters of fragrant yellow flowers, followed by bluish-black berries in fall.
