Berberis thunbergii 'Kobold' is a dense, compact, low-mounding deciduous shrub that typically matures to just two feet in height and width. Its small, glossy leaves emerge a vibrant bright green in spring, deepening to a rich dark green throughout the summer months before transitioning to attractive shades of yellow and red in the fall. This slow-growing cultivar is ideal for low hedges, borders, or rock gardens, thriving in full sun to part shade and well-drained soil. It is deer resistant.
