Create design onlineAbout Mexican Gold™ Jumbo Bidens
Mexican Gold™ Jumbo is Syngenta's vigorous, semi-trailing Bidens ferulifolia selection, with bright yellow daisy-like flowers and finely cut green foliage. It flowers early and continues through summer heat, and the breeder lists it for containers, hanging baskets, and landscape use. [Syngenta](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70003253) gives a compact garden size of 8–10 inches tall by 10–12 inches wide and identifies the product as pollinator friendly.
## Landscape Use
Place it near the edge of a mixed planter or basket so the semi-trailing stems can spill naturally. It also works in seasonal beds where the yellow flowers can contrast with darker foliage or other annual colors.
## Size and Siting
Allow about 8–10 inches in height and 10–12 inches across. Full sun or part sun is suitable; Syngenta describes this selection as vigorous and heat loving. The breeder lists hardiness zone 11a, while other garden listings use broader ranges and often treat Bidens as a warm-season annual.
## Soil and Water
Use a draining soil or potting mix and water as the surface begins to dry, with more frequent checks in hot weather and baskets. Syngenta's culture guide for Mexican Gold advises allowing the growing media to dry between waterings rather than keeping it saturated. Avoid standing water around roots.
## Maintenance
Remove damaged stems and trim lightly if the plant grows beyond its space. The breeder reports flowering from early spring into summer; the display period varies with planting date, warmth, and frost. It is typically grown as an annual outside warm climates.
