About Yellow Charm™ Bidens ferulifolia

Yellow Charm™ is a compact Bidens ferulifolia grown for bright egg-yolk yellow flowers and fine green foliage. The selection branches into a rounded mound and can be used in containers, baskets, or the front of a sunny seasonal planting. ## Growth and placement The [Danziger breeder page](https://www.danzigeronline.com/catalog/annuals/yellow-charm/) lists Yellow Charm as a compact mounded selection with early flowering, heat tolerance, and pollinator appeal. The [Royal Horticultural Society profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/298832/bidens-ferulifolia-yellow-charm-danyel9/details) identifies the plant as Bidens ferulifolia ‘Danyel9’, describes its egg-yolk yellow flowers, and recommends full sun with moist but well-drained soil. It gives a broad 0.1–0.5 m height and spread range; the [University of Illinois Extension](https://web.extension.illinois.edu/hortanswers/PlantDetail.cfm?PlantID=974&PlantTypeID=1) lists Yellow Charm among Bidens cultivars and gives 10–15 inches as a general height. The RHS and Extension figures differ: the RHS gives 0.1–0.5 m for both mature height and spread, while Extension lists a 10–15 inch mature height for Yellow Charm. ## Maintenance Pinch young plants if a tighter, better-branched mound is desired, as the RHS recommends. Set plants outdoors after frost risk has passed, and keep soil moist but well drained while they establish. Once growing, trim only as needed to maintain the desired shape.
