Sun Drop Compact Double Yellow Bidens

Sun Drop Compact Double Yellow is a compact Bidens with saturated yellow, double flowers. Its small production habit suits pots and mixed containers. ## Flowers and placement Ball FloraPlant identifies the exact selection as ‘Balbiscodel’ and describes double blooms in saturated yellow, recommending it for small-pot production and mixed containers ([Ball FloraPlant](https://www.ballfloraplant.com/Products/Details/?phid=010000001044679)). Its production profile gives an 8–10 inch height and 12 inch spread. Penn State’s 2020 outdoor sun-container trial measured 11 inches tall and 17 inches wide and rated the plant 4.66 out of 5 across 16 ratings ([Penn State Flower Trials](https://agsci.psu.edu/flower-trials/trial-year/2020/plant-name/bidens-sun-compact-drop-double-yellow)). ## Siting and soil Provide full sun and a freely draining container mix. The breeder advises pinching to improve branching and shape. A larger outdoor container can allow a broader outline than compact production sizing. ## Seasonal interest The double yellow flowers make a dense color accent in small pots or mixed plantings. Pair them with plants that add contrasting foliage or upright form. ## Maintenance Pinch once or more as the plant develops if a rounded shape is desired. Check small pots often in warm weather and water when the mix begins to dry; let excess water drain freely.
