About Blondy® Wintercreeper Euonymus

Blondy® is the trade name for the named selection Euonymus fortunei 'Interbolwi'. Its rounded, spreading evergreen growth carries showy yellow and green leaves, with the golden color especially vivid in spring. The [plant patent record](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP10424P/en) identifies 'Interbolwi' as the cultivar and Blondy as its marketing name. ## Placement Set Blondy in sun or partial shade near the front of a shrub bed, in a rock garden, or in a container. André Briant describes a tufted plant about 0.5 m tall and wide, while the [RHS profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/119856/euonymus-fortunei-interbolwi/details) gives a broader mature range of 0.5–1 m tall and 0.1–0.5 m wide. The patent records a compact plant 38–50 cm high and 60–90 cm across, so allow for a wider spread than a single-point nursery estimate. ## Seasonal interest The evergreen foliage is yellow with narrow green margins. New color is brightest in spring, and leaves may take on reddish tones in autumn. Choose a site with good drainage. ## Maintenance Prune lightly when needed to keep the rounded form and control spreading stems. Avoid cutting back more than needed, since pruning encourages branching. See the [breeder's plant profile](https://andre-briant.fr/en/variety-range/access-to-varieties/ground-cover-shrubs/3502-euonymus-fortunei-blondy-interbolwi-.html) for its compact habit and container use.
