Bloomerang® Dark Purple Reblooming Lilac Tree Form

Bloomerang® Dark Purple Tree Form presents the SMSJBP7 lilac as a small ornamental tree. It retains the selection’s fragrant purple flowers and green foliage while offering a trained tree form distinct from the rounded shrub listing. ## Garden Use The exact tree-form nursery listing identifies Bloomerang® Dark Purple (PP26549) as a small tree and places it in sun with a stated hardiness range of zones 3–7. Use it where a flowering specimen or small-scale vertical accent is wanted; the captured catalog size labels are retained because the tree-form source does not provide a contradictory mature-size measurement. Green foliage supplies the seasonal backdrop. ## Maintenance Give the lilac a sunny site with soil that drains well, and water during establishment and dry periods. Keep pruning focused on maintaining the trained tree structure; follow the nursery’s form-specific guidance and avoid removing healthy flowering wood unnecessarily. The tree form carries the same named selection, SMSJBP7, as the shrub and U.S. plant patent PP26,549, granted March 29, 2016. [Patent record](https://patents.justia.com/patent/PP26549)
