Create design onlineAbout Grande Cascade Butterfly Bush
Grande Cascade is a vigorous butterfly bush selected for exceptionally large, pendulous panicles of pale lavender-purple flowers. Its cascading branches and fragrant blooms bring a flowing shape to sunny borders, and the flowers draw pollinators.
## Flowers and form
The [Broken Arrow Nursery profile](https://www.brokenarrownursery.com/buddleja-x-grande-cascade-grand-cascade-butterfly-bush.html) identifies the patented cultivar as Buddleja × ‘Grande Cascade’ and describes honey-scented lavender panicles longer than a foot, flowering from July to frost. A [Klein’s Floral and Greenhouses shrub catalog](https://kleinsfloral.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Shrubs-21-Book.pdf) lists the Cascade Series panicles at 12–14 inches long and about 4 inches wide, with Grande Cascade in light lavender-purple.
## Siting
Provide full sun and room for a large arching shrub. Size reports vary between nursery profiles and the Cascade Series catalog, so actual height and spread depend on climate, pruning, and growing conditions.
## Maintenance
Prune hard in early spring to encourage vigorous flowering stems. Removing spent panicles may encourage additional late-season bloom. Water during establishment and extended dry periods, and check regional guidance before planting butterfly bush.
