‘Pink Cascade’ is a Walters Gardens Buddleia davidii cultivar protected by U.S. plant patent PP30,711. The [patent](https://patents.google.com/patent/USPP30711P2/en) describes a rounded mound with long, sweetly fragrant pink panicles that begin in midsummer and continue to frost in Michigan; it was granted July 16, 2019.
## Size and use
The patent’s four-year-old field-trial plants measured about 1.62 m (5.3 ft) tall and 2.75 m (9 ft) wide. It describes medium-pink flowers that age toward violet and identifies mass planting, accent, and potted-specimen uses. An [Overdevest listing](https://grownbyoverdevest.com/plant/pink-cascade-butterfly-bush/) also identifies PP30,711 and gives a smaller 5–6 foot size, illustrating that garden dimensions vary with growing conditions.
## Maintenance
Grow in sun and moist, well-drained soil. Water regularly while establishing, then adjust irrigation to weather and soil. The patent’s field-trial plants tolerated some drought; it also records pruning woody stems in early spring to about 15 cm.
