Flutterby Grande® Peach Cobbler Butterfly Bush

Flutterby Grande® Peach Cobbler is the trade name for patented Buddleja hybrid cultivar ‘Podaras #5’ (PP22,144). Its [patent record](https://www.hort.net/pedia/patent/grant/22144/) describes an upright, freely flowering plant with sterile light violet-blue flowers, while the [Flutterby cultivar reference](https://www.buddlejagarden.co.uk/podaras.html) identifies Peach Cobbler as Podaras #5 and reports pink flowers without peach tones. ## Flowers and identity The patent identifies the hybrid parentage as Buddleja weyeriana × B. davidii and describes the flowers as light violet-blue. The trade name is not a reliable guide to bloom color: the cultivar reference instead calls the flowers pink and specifically says they are not peach-toned. These accounts leave the exact hue unresolved. ## Siting Give the large shrub a sunny, well-drained position with room to spread. Flowering and mature size can vary with climate and growing conditions. ## Maintenance Prune in early spring to maintain shape and encourage new growth. Water regularly while the plant establishes, then during extended dry weather. Sterility is documented for this exact patented cultivar and should not be assumed for other butterfly bushes.
