*Burretiokentia grandiflora* is a solitary palm endemic to southeastern Grande Terre in New Caledonia. It grows in humid forest on ultramafic soils and is known from a restricted area.
## Identity and habitat
Kew’s [Plants of the World Online](https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:1003328-1) accepts *Burretiokentia grandiflora* and records its native range in southeastern New Caledonia. The [Endemia species account](https://endemia.nc/en/flore/fiche1110) describes a solitary subcanopy palm in dense humid forest on ultramafic soils, at about 250–950 m elevation. It records localities on the eastern slope of Montagne des Sources and in the upper Rivière Bleue and Haute Pourina areas. The account describes small, isolated mature populations, no observed regeneration, and an Endangered assessment dated 2016.
## Growing context
These sources document native habitat and morphology rather than garden performance. They do not establish a USDA hardiness range or species-specific watering and pruning guidance; seek specialist palm advice before planning cultivation.
## Maintenance
No species-specific care schedule was confirmed in the opened accounts. Protect the palm according to specialist advice for the local climate, and do not assume that its wild habitat alone defines garden care.
