Buxus wallichiana, known as the Himalayan Boxwood, is a slow-growing evergreen shrub or small tree native to the mountain ranges of South Asia. It is distinguished by its dense, lance-shaped foliage and straight, ash-grey trunk. Reaching heights of up to 15 meters, it thrives in moist, shady ravines and well-drained loamy soils. The species is highly valued for its exceptionally hard, durable wood, which is traditionally used for fine carvings, mathematical instruments, and cabinetry.
