About Cabaret® 'Hot Pink' Calibrachoa

Cabaret® Hot Pink is the Cabaret series cultivar ‘Balcabhopi’, a compact calibrachoa with bright pink flowers. Ball describes a medium mounded habit, 6–10 inches of height, and 10–12 inches of spread, and recommends sun exposure. These dimensions suit the plant to smaller containers and mixed baskets. ## Placement and growing conditions Grow it in a container or hanging basket in full sun. Use a porous potting mix with organic matter and an acidic pH; the [University of Minnesota Extension](https://extension.umn.edu/garden-and-home/yard-and-garden/gardening-in-minnesota/calibrachoa) recommends a pH of 5 to 6.5 and good drainage for calibrachoa. Plant outdoors after soil temperatures rise above 55°F. ## Seasonal display Calibrachoa produces abundant flowers through the growing season, with spring, summer, and fall display in seasonal plantings. Its mounded form works at the edge of mixed containers, where neighboring upright plants can rise above it. The [Ball FloraPlant product page](https://www.ballfloraplant.com/Products/Details/?phid=066003480004112) identifies the Hot Pink selection as ‘Balcabhopi’ and gives its cultivar dimensions. ## Maintenance Keep the potting mix moist while allowing excess water to drain, and check small pots and hanging baskets often during warm weather. Feed regularly during active growth. Calibrachoa is self-cleaning, so routine deadheading is unnecessary; trim stem tips if a more compact shape is desired.
