Callie® ‘Dark Blue’ is a compact, trailing calibrachoa with blue, trumpet-shaped flowers and green foliage. It spills over the edges of baskets and containers and flowers through spring and summer in warm, bright conditions.
## Garden use and season
Use it as a spiller in hanging baskets, patio pots, window boxes, or mixed containers. [Syngenta’s cultivar page](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/emea/product/flower/70087430) identifies Callie Dark Blue and describes its blue flowers, branching habit, and spring-to-summer flowering; the [Callie product guide](https://www.syngentaflowers.com/ams/product/flower/70075987) documents the series’ trailing form and container use.
## Growing conditions
Give it full sun for the strongest flowering, with a free-draining potting mix that retains enough moisture for roots in containers. Calibrachoa is a tender perennial usually grown as an annual; [NC State Extension](https://plants.ces.ncsu.edu/plants/calibrachoa-x-hybrida/) describes its sun preference, long bloom season, and suitability for baskets and containers. Allow space for trailing stems; mature spread can vary with container size, trimming, and growing conditions.
## Maintenance
Water when the potting mix begins to dry and avoid leaving the roots in saturated media. Remove weak or overlong stems as needed to keep the basket balanced; routine deadheading is unnecessary for continued flowering.
