About Cha-Cha™ Diva Apricot Calibrachoa hybrida

Cha-Cha™ ‘Diva Apricot’ is a vigorous, mounded calibrachoa with large flowers whose yellow, apricot, and pink tones shift as temperatures change. Its spreading growth and bold seasonal display make it a good choice for a large hanging basket, patio pot, or mixed container. ## Flowers and size [Ball FloraPlant’s exact breeder profile](https://www.ballfloraplant.com/Products/Details/?phid=066007114044663) identifies the cultivar as Calibrachoa Cha-Cha™ Diva Apricot, denomination ‘Balchadap’, and lists U.S. plant patent PP33,008. The breeder describes an early-flowering, vigorous mounded plant with large cascading blooms, 6–12-inch height, and 12–24-inch spread. The [University of Georgia Trial Gardens](https://fieldreport.caes.uga.edu/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/AP-116-8_1.pdf) found that baskets with this cultivar grew broadly and uniformly, with yellow and pink flowers. [Ball’s container-combination guidance](https://www.ballfloraplant.com/Products/Combinations/FunFusions/Recipe/?cid=60) says cooler nights make the flowers pinker and warmer nights whiter. [Penn State’s trial entry](https://agsci.psu.edu/flower-trials/trial-year/2020/plant-name/calibrachoa-cha-cha-diva-apricot) identifies yellow as the flower color and records strong July and August flowering. ## Siting Give this warm-season annual full sun or part sun and room to cascade. Its bold, changing color works well in a large planter, basket, or patio combination where the flower pattern can be viewed at close range. Keep container media evenly managed and allow it to drain; [Ball’s production guidance](https://www.ballfloraplant.com/Products/Details/?phid=066007114044663) advises avoiding saturated media and wide swings in moisture. ## Maintenance Water when the growing mix begins to dry, then drain excess water from the pot. Trim long stems only if the basket becomes uneven; the plant’s natural cascading habit is part of its display. Remove damaged growth as needed and provide good air movement around dense containers.
