Colibri™ Purple Lace is a named Calibrachoa hybrida selection in Danziger’s Colibri series, included in the breeder’s [2024 brochure](https://www.danzigeronline.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Calibrachoa-Colibri-2024.pdf). The brochure describes the series as compact and early flowering, with small-pot production and tidy baskets among its uses.
## Selection and placement
The brochure lists Purple Lace among Colibri selections and gives the series a mature size of 10 inches high by 12 inches wide. It also identifies spring and summer as the series flowering period. The [2026 Plug Connection order form](https://www.germaniaseed.com/orderforms/2026/PlugConnection_784_2026.pdf) lists Colibri Purple Lace as a 105-tray liner selection, confirming the exact trade identity in current production commerce.
## Growing conditions
Calibrachoa is a tender annual in frost-prone climates. For the genus generally, [University of Illinois Extension](https://extension.illinois.edu/flowers/calibrachoa) recommends full sun, moist, well-drained soil, and regular feeding, especially in containers. These are genus-level growing conditions rather than a claim about a unique Purple Lace trait.
## Maintenance
Check container moisture regularly, since small pots can dry quickly, and avoid standing water. Feed during active growth according to the fertilizer label. Illinois Extension recommends pinching Calibrachoa to keep it compact; Danziger’s production guidance says pinching is optional for the Colibri series.
