About LIA™ Bubblegum Calibrachoa hybrida

LIA™ Bubblegum is a medium-vigor, semi-trailing calibrachoa with vivid pink flowers and a compact, branching outline. It is suited to hanging baskets and patio containers, where stems spill over the rim through the warm growing season. ## Appearance and placement Danziger describes this cultivar as early flowering, with extra-large blooms, tight internodes, and a controlled semi-trailing habit. The breeder lists 12–14 inches for both height and width and recommends pots, hanging baskets, ground cover, and landscape combinations. A Czech nursery’s exact-cultivar listing describes bubblegum-pink flowers and a May-to-October display; local timing varies with climate. ## Growing conditions Place it in full sun in an acidic, well-drained medium. UMN Extension recommends pH 5.0–6.5, consistent moisture, and good drainage for calibrachoa. Baskets dry quickly, so check them frequently in warm weather; avoid waterlogged roots. Regular feeding during active growth supports repeated flowers. The semi-trailing stems fit the edge of mixed planters or sunny seasonal borders. ## Seasonal role Calibrachoa flowers for much of the warm growing season, and Danziger notes that LIA blooms under a 10-hour day. Use it as a seasonal annual where winter freezing occurs; no cultivar-specific USDA hardiness rating was verified. ## Maintenance Keep the potting mix evenly moist but never waterlogged, checking baskets often in warm or windy weather. Feed regularly during active growth according to the product label. Faded flowers do not need routine removal; trim a stem only if it becomes untidy or bare.
