Superbells® Double Ruby is a compact calibrachoa with rose-like, double ruby-red flowers and a mounding, trailing habit. It flowers from spring through fall and is especially useful where its stems can spill over the edge of a container or hanging basket.
## Flowers and form
[Proven Winners](https://c4.provenwinners.com/plants/calibrachoa/superbells-double-ruby-double-calibrachoa-calibrachoa) describes Double Ruby as a vigorous trailing annual with abundant red blooms that continue from planting until hard frost. Plants grow about 6–12 inches tall and may trail or spread 12–24 inches. The extra petals give the flowers a small, rose-like appearance.
## Where to grow
Give it full sun to part sun and well-drained soil. Calibrachoa roots are sensitive to waterlogged conditions, so a freely draining container mix or garden bed is important. Average moisture is suitable; let the mix dry slightly between waterings without allowing severe wilting. The breeder lists the cultivar for USDA zones 9–11; it is commonly grown as a warm-season annual elsewhere.
## Maintenance
Deadheading is unnecessary. In midsummer, if stems become long or uneven, trim them lightly and feed the plant to encourage fresh growth. Avoid removing more than about one fifth of the plant at once.
