Campana White Campanula is an upright Canterbury bell grown for white bell-shaped flowers on strong stems. The species, Campanula medium, is usually grown as a biennial, with a leafy first season followed by flowering stems in a later season.
## Flowers and garden use
[PanAmerican Seed](https://www.panamseed.com/Products/013006226005863/campanula-campana-white/) lists this white selection in its Campana F1 cut-flower series, valued for uniform timing and upright stems. The breeder gives a finished height of about 30–34 inches for the series. Use it in a cutting garden or as a seasonal vertical accent in a sunny border. [The Royal Horticultural Society](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/29191/campanula-medium/details) describes Canterbury bells as biennials with broadly bell-shaped blue, pink, or white flowers and recommends sun or partial shade.
## Siting
Choose a bright site with fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Keep the soil moist but well drained during active growth. PanAmerican Seed lists sun exposure; the RHS also notes that partial shade is suitable for the species. Flower timing depends on sowing date, day length, and climate, so use local seasonal schedules rather than assuming one fixed bloom month.
## Maintenance
Water newly planted specimens regularly and keep the soil moist but well drained. Leave spent flower spikes if self-seeding is desired; removing them may encourage a second flush. Because this is usually grown as a biennial, resowing may be needed for continued displays.
