Cannova® ‘Bronze Scarlet’ is an upright, clump-forming canna with scarlet flowers above large bronze-burgundy leaves. Its compact tropical look works in sunny borders, mass plantings, and large containers.
## Flowers and foliage
The [Ball Seed profile](https://www.ballseed.com/PlantInfo/?phid=013306980024032) identifies Cannova® Bronze Scarlet as an upright Canna × generalis with bronze foliage, summer-to-autumn bloom, and a 30–48 inch height by 14–20 inch width. The [Royal Horticultural Society profile](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/352467/canna-%C3%97-generalis-cannova-bronze-scarlet-fcaa35-cannova-series/details) identifies the Bronze Scarlet selection and describes its bronze-tinted leaves and bright scarlet flowers.
## Siting and care
Give it full sun and consistent moisture during active growth. Use fertile, moisture-retentive soil that drains freely, and leave room for the upright leaves and flowering stems. It suits a warm border or a substantial patio pot; in containers, water regularly through summer.
## Maintenance
Remove spent flower stalks to encourage continued flowering. In frost-prone climates, lift and store the rhizomes after frost damages the foliage, then replant after the last spring frost.
